About Devon
Mr. Franza joined Dillon Miller & Ahuja, LLP as an Associate in 2019. He practices civil and business litigation, including employment law issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Franza practiced civil litigation in a broad array of practice areas. These included employment law, medical malpractice, personal injury, construction defect, real property, and elder abuse. Mr. Franza served as co-counsel representing plaintiffs in two wage and hour employment suits shortly after gaining admittance to the California Bar. Mr. Franza then transitioned to defense-oriented work, where he managed cases from the pre-litigation stage all the way through settlement. This work included developing and implementing discovery strategies, expert retention, deposition practice, law and motion practice, mediation, and more.
In his free time, Mr. Franza serves as the assistant coach to the University of California, San Diego mock trial team. In that role, Mr. Franza specializes in teaching cross-examination and closing argument techniques. Mr. Franza is an avid animal lover and has adopted a dog rescued from the dog meat trade in southeast Asia, named Dune. Dune has served as the unofficial mascot for the University of California, San Diego mock trial team and can sometimes be seen calming student’s nerves before competitions throughout California.
